What Does Craft Garden Design Offer?

  • Free 30 minute on site meeting to determine if we are a good fit. An hourly rate of $55 after 30 minutes is applied

  • Design projects range from small to large. A general rule of thumb is $1 per square foot for design cost. See the next section Our Process for details.

  •  I will give you plans and plant lists that can be handed over to a contractor for installation or you might want to install the project yourself. Either way, I am here to support you. Many clients ask that I stay on as project manager and I am happy to do that at an hourly rate of $55. 

    I also am happy to support you through the years to come with questions and even quarterly maintenance.

Our Process

Plan with a Purpose

I begin with listening - to you -through our initial meeting and the online questionnaire you will find here. I also listen to the land as I measure and map the site to scale, including anything you would like to keep while taking into consideration the neighboring lots, soil, and light conditions.

My 30 plus years in Eugene gardens and my Design background will take the guess work out of the process for you.

Collaborate Openly

You’re part of the process. As your garden designer, I strive to keep communication open and decisions shared. Every garden is unique and reflects the client and the site.

We’ll have a series of meetings as the design process unfolds through the stages of concept flow, hardscape, and plant choices.

Site Preparation

My job is as a garden designer. I will create a set plans and plant lists that can be handed over to a contractor for installation or you might want to install the project yourself. Many clients ask that I stay on as project manager and I am happy to do that at an hourly rate of $55. 

Proper site preparation is essential for long term success.

Project Completion

I hesitate to call a project complete. A young garden will need some time to set roots and get to know their new plant neighbors and you too. A Garden is a living growing ecosystem that will be in eternal flux. My job is to help you accomplish the goals initially set, and new ones as they evolve. Your new garden will provide you with a restful place to refuel and be filled with wonder and awe. What a gift for yourself and the planet.
